"The Baby"

So many of you might not know about "the baby" my grandparents adopted. Yes my retired grandparents adopted a baby. Her name is Jaden and she was about 6 months when they got her. She is now 2 years old and officially my grandparent's. She is actually my cousin Matt's baby daughter. Because of circumstances that are quite tramatizing, the mother was stripped of her parental rights and well, Matt has no business raising a child...I'm glad the court saw that! So, my grandparents being the noble people that they are were overjoyed at the thought of having a little girl around the house. So, now Jaden is their world. I'm pretty happy about that. She is such a joy. Despite her mother's bad habits before, during, and after her pregnancy, Jaden was born with no problems...thank the Lord. She is well adjusted and quite a smart little cookie! We were so lucky!

So now because I have never really had a girl cousin besides Krissy, I am going crazy! Everytime we are in Target I HAVE to go to the kids section and buy something for Jaden. It drives John crazy! I think he is worried I will be a bit like this when we have kids of our own. But he doesn't realize its so much FUN...especially when the kid doesn't belong to you! But because my grandparents have had relative success during their lives they are able to provide Jaden with virtually anything she needs and/or wants. So, what can you get a kid who has everything? Well I usually buy her clothes. But my grandma recently told me that Jaden LOVES books! I couldn't be more excited! How great is that?! She loves to be read to! That is so awesome! Hopefully it will develop into something she continues to love when she is older! So now everytime we are at the store, I want to buy her books! I have already mailed my grandma books for Jaden because I couldn't wait until the next time I went home for her to have them.

So, now if you hear me talk about Jaden or see a bizarre picture of a small child on my page, you will know who she is! She is such a cutie! I think she looks a little like me when I was little.

Shes' adorable! We just bought Andi a bunch of books this last weekend, they make the coolest kids books these days! Maybe john won't mind your shopping so much when it's for your own kids, cos you'll get to keep the stuff you buy ;)
